"God is Real" Reveals Convergence of Science, Ancient Spiritual Texts

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - Jun 29, 2012) - In Sanjay C. Patel's new book, "God is Real," (www.SanjayCPatel.com), the author compares details about the origins of the universe found in ancient Yoga literature; the oldest part of the Bible; and contemporary science. He discovers more than 100 points of agreement.

"The number of correspondences between science and ancient spirituality total 121," says Patel, whose research has appeared in peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Marine Scientist in the United Kingdom. "Nineteen of these are numerical. Seven concern timelines and accurately give them for volcanic activity in the Indian Ocean, a global extinction and flood, development of our galaxy's halo and disk, its lifespan, and the end of our Earth and sun."

"It cannot be coincidence," he says. "It appears the ancient yogis, Israelites and Christians possessed a knowledge that we have only recently been able to confirm with sophisticated equipment."

Patel based his research on expert translations of Sanskrit literature dating back to 1500 B.C. For biblical text, which dates back to about 1000 B.C., he relied on New International Version and World English Bible translations, and the Talmud.

"God is Real" walks readers through science's explanations of the origins of the universe and primordial events on Earth. Patel then links these facts to passages in the ancient texts. For instance, scientists know that 175 to 112 million years ago, oceans flooded much of the land and wiped out many plants and animals. Also, just last year, researchers determined that, today, there are about 8.7 million species.

The yogis said that, 120 million years ago, "The oceans shall turn this entire world into a single ocean... " They said today, there are 8.4 million species of creatures."

The Bible says: "I do bring the flood of waters on this earth to destroy all flesh having the breath of life... "

Wrote reviewer John Evans: "The material of this book is ground-breaking. Patel works only with facts."
