Gold Canyon Holds its Annual General and Special Meeting of the Shareholders


VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 25, 2012) - Gold Canyon Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:GCU)(PINKSHEETS:GDCRF) ("Gold Canyon" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that its Annual General Meeting of shareholders was held in Vancouver, British Columbia on April 24, 2012 at which:

  • the incumbent directors of the Company, being Akiko Levinson, Ron Schmitz, Quinton Hennigh, Doug Buchanan and Conrad Pinette, were re-elected as directors of Gold Canyon for the coming year;
  • Davidson & Company, the incumbent auditors of the Company, were re-appointed auditors of Gold Canyon for the coming year;
  • in accordance with the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange, the Company's rolling 2003 Incentive Stock Option Plan was ratified for the coming year; and
  • in accordance with the terms of Gold Canyon's Shareholder Rights Plan of March 15, 2006, such Shareholder Rights Plan was reconfirmed for a further three year term.
