Goldcliff Resource Corporation: Bonanza Gold Grades at Panorama Ridge-15 Ounces Gold Per Short Ton

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 17, 2007) - Leonard W. Saleken, Chairman of Goldcliff Resource Corporation (TSX VENTURE:GCN), is pleased to report that the Company has discovered bonanza gold grades at the Company's 100%-owned Panorama Ridge property near Hedley, B.C. The 15.311 ounces gold per short ton occurs over a 1.00 metre channel sample interval and is accompanied by a 1.50 metre interval grading 4.899 ounces gold per short ton. The combined total of the 2.50 metres is grading 8.084 ounces gold per short ton. The bonanza gold grades are a major discovery on the Panorama Ridge property.

Bonanza Trench Gold Results

The Bonanza trench has multi-ounce, high-grade gold results and was excavated at the south-western portion of the York-Viking zone. The following gold values are continuous channel samples and are reported in ounces per short ton (oz/t) and grams per tonne (g/t):

From (m) To (m) Interval (m) Gold (oz/t) Gold (g/t)
0.00 1.50 1.50 0.180 6.16
I.50 2.50 1.00 15.311 525.00
2.50 4.00 1.50 4.899 168.00
4.00 5.00 1.00 0.055 1.89

The 5.00 metre sample interval has a weighted gold average of 4.089 ounces gold per short ton or 140.210 grams gold per tonne.

Total Trench Results

Along with the high-grade gold values, the other trench gold results from the remaining 29.40 metres of continuous channel sampling are summarized as follows:

From (m) To (m) Interval (m) Gold (g/t)
5.00 12.40 7.40 0.20
12.40 14.20 1.80 no sample (barren dyke-rock)
14.20 21.60 7.40 0.64
21.60 25.20 3.60 no sample (barren dyke-rock)
25.20 34.40 9.20 0.29

The Bonanza trench, located at the south-western portion of the York-Viking zone, is a major gold discovery. The high-grade gold discovery at Panorama Ridge is comparable to the high-grade gold mineralization mined underground at the Nickel Plate Mine. The high-grade gold beds occur within an overall mineralized sequence that is up to 200 metres in thickness. The lower grade gold portions of this sequence were successfully mined by Mascot Gold Mines' open pit operation.

The geological setting at Panorama Ridge is similar to these previously successful settings. Goldcliff has been targeting the bulk-tonnage potential of Panorama Ridge with success. The Bonanza trench gold results confirm the high-grade potential of the property.

The Bonanza trench was excavated at the south-western extremity of the York-Viking zone. The gold mineralization in the Bonanza trench is a down-slope extension of the main area of gold mineralization on the York-Viking zone.

Panorama Exploration Progress

The 2007 exploration program of trenching and drilling was designed to advance the Panorama Ridge property to the resource definition stage. Prior to the winter recess in 2007, 2,827 metres in 32 holes were drilled and 1,008 metres in 26 trenches were excavated. The drilling will resume in early spring 2008 in order to complete the 10,000 metres of drilling that will be required to meet Goldcliff's preliminary gold resource definition target.

In 2008, the area of the Bonanza trench will be further trenched and drilled. Goldcliff is awaiting assay results from the remaining trenches and all of the drill holes. These are expected early in the New Year.

Technical Verification

The surface trenches are excavated using a Hitachi 150 machine. The trench excavation width is 1.60 metres or wider, and the trench length will vary. The area for sampling in the trench is cleaned and a channel is cut by diamond-saw in preparation for rock sampling. The width of the cut is 4 to 8 centimetres and the depth is up to 5 centimetres. Rock samples are collected over a continuous sample length at 1.00 metre intervals. The sample weight is 2 to 4 kilograms. The samples are shipped to the assay laboratory for preparation and analyses.

The samples are shipped to EcoTech Laboratory Ltd. for sample preparation and analyses. EcoTech Laboratory Ltd is a certified laboratory with the ISO 9001 certification of Registration# 52172-01. The certified assayer for EcoTech is Jutta Jealouse, BC Certified Assayer. The samples are analyzed by Aqua Regia Digest / ICP MS Finish Au 30g FA / AA Finish.
