Golden Living Names Larry Deans Chief Business Development Officer

FORT SMITH, AR--(Marketwire - Apr 11, 2011) - Golden Living today announced that Larry Deans has been named Chief Business Development Officer, effective April 15. Previously, Deans was President of Golden LivingCenters. Deans will have responsibility for developing new businesses and services to meet the needs of a changing healthcare environment. He also will be involved in evaluating potential merger and acquisition opportunities.

Initially Deans will focus on building the recently launched Golden Clinical Rx Solutions consulting pharmacy business and the automated in-house pharmacy dispensing business.

As President of Golden LivingCenters since 2008, Deans provided leadership and oversight of the company's skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities. He also was responsible for the key functions necessary to support the LivingCenters and keep their operations running smoothly, including sales and marketing, finance, and human resources.

Before being named President of Golden LivingCenters, Deans was Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Golden Living, where he played a key role in facilitating the successful transition of Golden Living following the acquisition of Beverly Enterprises in 2006.

Before joining Golden Living, Deans was Senior Vice President of Human Resources for US Oncology (USON) where he was responsible for all aspects of USON's human resources management and administration, and for ensuring that the human resources programs were closely aligned with and supported the company's business strategy.

Prior to his role at USON, Deans was Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Beverly Enterprises. Under his guidance, Beverly significantly upgraded and strengthened the human resources area in terms of systems, procedures and staff.

Previously, Deans held senior human resources positions at Jones Lang LaSalle, Alliant Foodservice, Knoll Pharmaceuticals, Pharmacia Diagnostics, Inc., and Baxter Healthcare Corporation.

Deans earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Northern Illinois University.
