Golden Odyssey Appoints a New CFO and Promotes Exploration Administrator to Vice President, Administration

New Options Granted to Two Officers and Consultant

RENO, NEVADA--(CCNMatthews - April 27, 2007) - Golden Odyssey Mining Inc. ("Golden Odyssey" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:GOE) (PINK SHEETS:GODYF) is pleased to announce the following appointments: Mr. Louis Nagy C.A. to the position of CFO and Ms. Lee N. Lizotte to the position of Vice President, Administration.

Mr. Nagy, C.A. is a financial and accounting consultant and serves as CFO for other companies as well as Golden Odyssey. He has extensive experience in accounting and in financial reporting for junior resource companies. Mr. Nagy replaces Mr. Jim Kirke who has resigned his part time position with the Company to devote his full attention to his principal employer.

Ms. Lizotte has 25 years of experience in the exploration industry and has served, on a part time basis, as the Company's Exploration Administrator since its founding in 2004. Ms. Lizotte will continue on a part time basis.

In other news, the Company has granted a total of 200,000 options to two officers and a consultant. The options are priced at $0.27 and expire in five years.
