Golden Odyssey Mining Announces Lindsay Bottomer as Newest Director

RENO, NEVADA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 7, 2006) - Golden Odyssey Mining Inc. ("Golden Odyssey" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:GOE)(OTCBB:GODYF) is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Lindsay R. Bottomer, M.Sc. (App). its Board of Directors.

Mr. Bottomer is a Vancouver based mining executive with 33 years of experience in global mineral exploration and development with major and junior mining companies. Mr. Bottomer obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in geology from the University of Queensland and a Master of Applied Science degree from McGill University. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy as well as the past President of the British Columbia and Yukon Chamber of Mines. Mr. Bottomer is currently an elected councilor on the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.

Mr. Bottomer is currently Vice-President, Corporate Development with Entree Gold Inc.(EGI: AMEX) (ETG:Toronto), and was formerly President and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Rio Resources Ltd., a public company focused on gold and silver exploration in Canada. Mr. Bottomer serves as a director of several listed junior exploration companies, including Silver Quest Resources Ltd. and Titan Uranium Incorporated. Previously, Mr. Bottomer served as Vice-President Exploration with IMA Exploration Inc., Director of Canadian Exploration with Echo Bay Mines Ltd., and Vice-President of New Projects with Prime Equities International.

Mr. Bottomer is also a past recipient of the CJ Westerman Memorial Award, an award granted to a professional geoscientist who combines a solid professional career with outstanding service and dedication to advancing public recognition of geoscience.
