Golden Share Provides Update and Outlines Strategy for 2008

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 30, 2008) - Golden Share Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE:GSH) is pleased to provide an update on its activities.

Since January 14th 2008, the day on which the Company's shares started trading on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol " GSH ", Golden Share has been developing rapidly. Following the appointment of Mrs. Huss as Vice-president Exploration in January 2008, Golden Share finalized its web site in February (www.goldenshare.ca). Since early March, the Company has been preparing its 2008 exploration season to be initiated in early May, with a particular emphasis on assembling a strong technical team.

Muroc Inc., a geological consulting firm based in St-Adolphe d'Howard, Quebec, has appointed Mr. Pierre Poisson to the position of senior geologist for the Forsan and Elwood projects. Mr. Poisson is a talented field geologist with over 25 years of experience in mining exploration. He was instrumental in developing the initial property portfolio of Virginia Gold Mines Inc. in the early 1990's. Mr. Poisson is also directly responsible for the discovery of the Lac Knife Graphite Deposit for Mazarin Inc. in Northern Quebec.

A contract was signed with InnovExplo, a Val d'Or based geological consulting group, for the geological management of the Malartic Lakeshore project as well as for specific consulting services to initiate a NI 43-101 compliant validation process on the Forsan property which hosts an historical resource of 40,000 ounces of gold. Under the supervision of geologists Alain Carrier and Carl Pelletier, InnovExplo provides a complete range of services from geology to engineering, through exploration and geomatics; their in-depth knowledge of the Val d'Or-Malartic mining camp being of particular importance for Golden Share.

Moreover, specific prospecting and technical assistance services were contracted form a specialized Val d'Or based firm. Finally, a second geologist was recently hired to provide assistance for the summer exploration program.

In parallel, geological compilation work was initiated in early March 2008 on four of Golden Share's five projects to clearly outline the priorities of the 2008 field season. Compilation work on the Forsan and Elwood projects is executed by Muroc while InnovExplo undertook the work on the Malartic Lakeshore project. In addition, the Company has signed a contract with Terrax Management, a Rouyn-Noranda based service provider to the mining industry, for an in depth compilation of the Belleterre project where stripping, cleaning and sampling of a new quartz vein outlined in the fall of 2007 will be completed in the next few weeks.

Philippe Giaro, President and CEO, stated "We are extremely pleased with the rapid development of Golden Share and especially with the quality of the mining exploration team we have been able to assemble. This is an exciting time as we are now ready to initiate our 2008 summer field campaign with a solid technical team focused on maximizing the potential of Golden Share's high quality portfolio of mining properties. We have built solid foundations to develop our Company and are fully prepared for a very busy 2008 field season that will pave the way for two important diamond drill programs to be initiated through the summer."

Golden Share intends to report on a regular basis on the advancement of its work programs and will shortly be providing specific updates on each of its projects. The Company is also simultaneously working towards increasing its visibility in Canada and Europe.
