Customer donations exceeded $7500.

"We wanted to make this a good Earth Day, and our customers helped us do that! People on the streets were surprised and delighted to receive the free travel mugs and tote bags from our street teams," says Nan Eskenazi, Co-Founder, Good Earth Coffeehouse and Bakery. Good Earth will build on this event for next year, rewarding even more acts of green and donating more money". The largest corporate donor was RBC Financial and they are the winner of the Free catered business lunch courtesy of Good Earth.

On April 21 and 22, street teams from Good Earth and Bullfrog Power? rewarded "random acts of green" seen on the streets of Calgary, Edmonton, Okotoks and Kelowna. Over 1,800 earth-friendly gifts were given away in celebration of Earth Day. "Our Earth Day in the Landing went fantastic!" says owner Rob Dickinson of the Glenmore Landing Good Earth Café. We were able to stir up lots of excitement and were able to get lots of donations." The Kelowna Good Earth Café located on Pandosy Street also did very well with their street teams. "We were able to hand out items up and down Pandosy to cyclists, transit riders, walkers, people using reusable shopping bags and of course there is a bottle depot across the street", says owner Garry Grieve.

Good Earth's environmental initiatives include bullfrogpowering? all of its 20 locations with 100 per cent green electricity (for an emissions footprint reduction of over 500 tonnes of CO2 per year), using organic ingredients in a variety of the items on its menu, serving only fair trade, shade-grown coffee, and reducing materials and waste wherever possible.
