The Good Guys Marine Fund to Host the 4th Annual Fundraising Event to Benefit Marines Wounded in Iraq & Afghanistan

100% of All Donations Go Directly to Marines Wounded in the Line of Duty; Congressman Brian Bilbray and Three Marine Corps Generals Scheduled to Attend and Speak

RANCHO SANTA FE, CA--(Marketwire - March 5, 2008) - The Good Guys of Morgan Run (the "Good Guys") announced today it will host the 4th annual Good Guys Marine Fund Event Day on April 5, 2008, capping off its annual spring fundraising campaign. 100% of the money donated to The Good Guys Marine Fund ( is distributed directly to wounded Marines in the form of individual grants of $5,000 each. The Good Guys work closely with U.S. Marine Corps senior officers and non-commissioned officers to identify candidates for grants.

This year's event will be held at the Morgan Run Club & Resort in Rancho Santa Fe, CA and promises to be the largest to date. The entire expense of this event will be generously underwritten and paid for by the Good Guys and the Morgan Run Club & Resort, a wholly-owned unit of ClubCorp, the largest owner and operator of private clubs in the world. Last year, the Good Guys raised $260,000 for this worthy cause, more than double the amount raised in 2006. The bar has been set much higher for 2008, with a goal to raise at least $500,000.

Approximately 270 guests and contributors as well as 60 wounded Marines are expected to attend. The event will be emceed by EMMY award winning news anchor Graham Ledger. Congressman Brian Bilbray will be the featured speaker. A number of U.S. Marine Corps Generals are scheduled to attend and speak, including: Lieutenant General Samuel T. Helland, Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central Command and Commanding General, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force; Major General Thomas D. Waldhauser, Commanding General, 1st Marine Division; and Brigadier General Angela Salinas, Commanding General, Marine Corps Recruit Depot/Western Recruiting Region.

To date, the United States Department of Defense has confirmed more than 4,400 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, more than 28,000 U.S. soldiers have been wounded in the Global War on Terrorism, of which more than 8,300 were U.S. Marines. While the injuries alone are often traumatic, the financial hardship for both the soldier and his or her family can be extraordinary. Not withstanding one's political or partisan perspective, or one's view on the War in Iraq, there is no debating the enormous personal sacrifice these brave soldiers and their families have made for our Country.

The 64-member Good Guys of Morgan Run is a non-partisan, a-political, IRS registered non-profit 501 (3)(c) organization. Its mission is simple, yet critical: In an effort to alleviate some financial hardship, The Good Guys raise funds to provide financial support directly to U.S. Marines wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan in recognition of their sacrifice and duty to our Country.
