GoodLife Report (, a web magazine covering the worlds of travel, dining, nightlife, technology and other lifestyle topics, has announced its first annual picks for the top eco-friendly products, places and establishments within the luxury niche.

GLR staff researched hundreds of candidates in different lifestyle categories, equally weighing their green and luxury components. Candidates ranged from hybrid-electric and clean-diesel cars to LEED-certified hotels and restaurants to eco-friendly golf courses.

"Our goal with the GreenLux Awards is to report on the most high-end developments that have come out of the green movement," says Whit Cook, publisher of GoodLife Report. "Hybrid-electric cars and carbon-neutral homes get plenty of press, but you hear less about the burgeoning fine dining locavore movement or the number of new five-star resorts that have gone green," says Cook.

"GLR prides itself on regularly featuring eco-friendly luxury products, hotels and services," says Executive Editor Shandana A. Durrani. "It seemed natural to recognize companies and establishments that genuinely marry luxury and environmental stewardship."

Cook founded GoodLife Report in December 2009 after running the online marketing department at M. Shanken Communications, publishers of Wine Spectator and Cigar Aficionado magazines. Overseeing the editorial content is Durrani, a former senior editor at Cigar Aficionado with more than 18 years of magazine editorial experience. GLR contributing editors have written for a diverse range of publications and websites, including Travel + Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler, Glamour, The Washington Post, The New York Times and
