Goodman Marketing Partners Wins DMA International ECHO Silver Award for KCSM-FM Radio Campaign

SAN RAFAEL, CA--(Marketwire - October 13, 2010) -  Goodman Marketing Partners (GMP), a full service direct marketing company, announced today it has received a 2010 Direct Marketing Association International ECHO Award for its work for San Mateo, California-based public radio station KCSM-FM. Considered "the Oscar®" of direct marketing and a coveted industry honor, the ECHO is the only comprehensive international direct marketing award program recognizing excellence in strategic thinking, creativity and results.

GMP received an ECHO Silver award for KCSM-FM in the Not-For-Profit category, Business-to-Consumer.

One of the little known facts about KCSM-FM is that it owns the third largest jazz collection in the world. It has a listening audience of over 200,000 and is growing worldwide as a result of streaming live on the Web. KCSM listeners very much feel like they are part of a tight-knit community -- people who are passionate about straight ahead jazz! 

GMP's winning ECHO entry entitled "Sax, Bass and Double Roll" was designed to help KCSM-FM increase listener donations. By creating an eye-catching series of mailings that depicted musical instruments GMP helped draw attention to the jazz station and its need for ongoing financial support. The first mailing, a die-cut postcard in the shape of a saxophone depicted musical notes flowing from the sax and was followed by a die-cut postcard in the shape of a double bass. The final mailing featured a set of drums asking listeners "Are we drumming to the same beat?" Some recipients were so engaged with the creative that they blogged and tweeted about the direct mail package itself.
