Gov. O'Malley to Join Tech Council of Maryland at Annual TCM Tech Awards Celebration

Gov. Martin O'Malley -- an ardent supporter of Maryland's tech and biotech community and sponsor of the recently passed Invest Maryland program that will raise $70 million for early and later-stage tech and biotech companies in Maryland -- will join the Tech Council of Maryland at the annual dinner where the association announces the winners of its prestigious 2011 Tech Awards. Gov. O'Malley was the 2010 recipient of the TCM Advocate of the Year award.

The 2011 Tech Awards will recognize individuals and organizations for their innovation, dedication and outstanding service to the Mid Atlantic Region's technology and biotechnology community. Awards will be given in eight categories: Emerging Company of the Year, Biotechnology Firm of the Year, High Technology Firm of the Year, Government Contracting Firm of the Year, Executive of the Year, Chief Financial Officer of the Year, Tech Advocate of the Year and STEM Educator of the Year.
