Govan Brown Raises $85,000 Towards The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 8, 2014) - On Thursday, March 20th, Govan Brown and BJC held their annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Fundraiser which raised an astounding $85,000. The event was held at the Hilton suites in Markham and was attended by many of Toronto's construction industry leaders. The CBCF Charity Fundraiser is a highly anticipated event held annually to raise money for research and to create a future without breast cancer.

Over 750 guests showed up to show their support at the casino-themed event. All guests were given 1000 casino dollars to try their luck at the various casino games with all house-won money going towards the cause. The night also offered silent and live auctions for the opportunity to win prizes ranging from an authentic slot machine from Caesars Palace to large screen televisions, iPads, Toronto Maple Leaf tickets, Sports memorabilia and kitchen appliances.

Govan Brown has maintained a strong relationship with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation since Govan Brown Partner, Jon Taylor was asked to sit on the board of Leaders for the Cure three years ago. Since then, Govan Brown, through various fundraising initiatives, has amassed $418,000 in donations for breast cancer research.

Since Govan Brown's inception in 1994, Partners John Brown and Ralph Govan have put a heavy premium on community involvement. The addition of third partner, Jon Taylor in 2003 has solidified the company's partnership with organizations like the CBCF.
