BC Coroners Service identifies motor vehicle incident victim
KELOWNA - The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Craigellachie on Aug. 15, 2014.
He was Kim Alan Edwards, aged 57, who had recently moved from Kamloops to Calgary, Alberta.
Mr. Edwards was the driver and sole occupant of a car heading eastbound on Highway 1 in the early hours of the morning of Aug. 15 when, near Avoca Road in Craigellachie, the car went out of control and rolled, then being struck by a westbound transport truck.
Mr. Edwards was taken by ambulance first to Shuswap General Hospital in Salmon Arm, and then to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. The next day he died of injuries sustained in the crash.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Edwards has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
