Government of Canada Announces $284,138 Contract for
Soil Remediation in Northwest Territories

WEST ST. PAUL, MANITOBA--(CCNMatthews - March 15, 2005) - A $284,138
competitive contract has been awarded to Winnipeg Environmental
Remediations Inc., of West St. Paul, Manitoba, for the maintenance and
final decommissioning of three sites located in the Northwest
Territories. Awarded on behalf of Transport Canada. This contract will
be completed in December 2006.

The announcement was made today by the Honourable Reg Alcock, President
of the Treasury Board and Minister responsible for the Canadian Wheat
Board, on behalf of the Honourable Scott Brison, Minister of Public
Works and Government Services.

"A clean and safe environment from coast to coast is a priority of the
Government of Canada," said Minister Alcock. "This remediation project
demonstrates the federal government's commitment to ensuring a
sustainable environment in Manitoba and the North for future generations
of Canadians."

The contractor will supply and install liner material in treatment wells
located at three sites to prevent waste leakages from getting
underground. In addition, the contractor will mechanically turn the
contaminated soil regularly to stimulate biodegradation of contaminants
and fertilize the soil inside all three treatment wells. Once treated,
the soil will be placed in a stockpile for use as backfill in airports
and other sites. Winnipeg Remediations will remove and dispose of the
liner material and refill the treatment wells once the treated soil has
been transferred. The treatment wells are located in Inuvik, Norman
Wells and Fort Good Hope.
