Government of Canada Announces an Agreement in Principle for the Reconstruction of the Perce Wharf


QUÉBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 30, 2015) - The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans announced today that the Government of Canada and the City of Percé have reached an agreement in principle to rebuild the Percé wharf as part of a process to divest the wharf to the city.

Quick Facts

  • Fisheries and Oceans Canada will be responsible for reconstruction of the wharf. Work is slated to start in fall 2016.
  • In the meantime, the Department will work with the City of Percé to develop the plans and specifications. The call for tenders process for reconstruction should begin in spring 2016.
  • To ensure user safety, the restricted access, circulation and mooring at the Percé wharf implemented in 2013 will remain in effect.
