Government of Canada Announces Reappointment to Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation

The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced the reappointment of Jim Silye as vice-chair of the board of trustees of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation for a term of four years, effective June 18, 2014.

• Mr. Silye was first appointed as vice-chair of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation's board of trustees on June 18, 2010.
• Mr. Silye is an entrepreneur with over 40 years' experience in a variety of fields, including the oil and gas industry. He has founded numerous companies, including Eagle Rock Exploration Ltd. and Predator Exploration Ltd.
• Mr. Silye is an active member of his community and has served on the boards of a number of organizations.
• Mr. Silye holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Ottawa.
• The Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation is responsible for preserving and protecting Canada's scientific and technological heritage and for promoting and sharing knowledge about that heritage.
