Government of Canada Awards $117,000 to SHAPE wlb for Implementation of a Commercialization Strategy

SAINT-HUBERT, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 9, 2010) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, today announced $117,000 in repayable funding to SHAPE wlb under the Business and Regional Growth program to implement a commercialization strategy. This project will create three new jobs while helping to consolidate the information and communications technologies niche in Montérégie.

This financial support will enable the company to develop and strengthen its distribution network in Canada, the United States and Europe.

"Canada Economic Development does not hesitate to support enterprises that, like SHAPE wlb, choose to develop markets around the world in order to become more competitive," commented Minister of State Lebel.

Founded in 2007, SHAPE wlb specializes in the design and manufacture of positioning and support equipment for video and photo cameras. Designed for professional and amateur cameramen, these products greatly reduce the weariness and constraints of operating a camera during long hours while improving camera stability for better shoots.

"Implementation of a commercialization strategy will allow this dynamic young SME to boost sales of its specialized product line that it developed itself after two years of research and development," added Mr. Lebel.

SHAPE wlb, whose team has over 15 years of experience in various key positions in the film industry, offers six product lines, some components of which are patented. Camera supports, dollies and numerous accessories can be purchased through the company's Web site or outlets.
