Government of Canada Funds Project to Modernize Leisure and Recreational Facilities in Saint-Come-Liniere, Beauce

SAINT-CÔME-LINIÈRE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Jan. 30, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Maxime Bernier, Member of Parliament for Beauce and Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism, and Agriculture), today announced that L'Œuvre des terrains de jeux de Saint-Côme, Beauce, has been granted financial assistance from the Government of Canada to renovate the municipal community hall.

This assistance has been awarded in the form of a non-repayable contribution of $81,650 through Canada Economic Development's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

Quick facts

• The community hall of the municipality of Saint-Côme-Linière is the only recreational gathering place available to the local population.

• The work is part of long-term planning to provide residents with a safe infrastructure adapted to a wide variety of recreational and leisure activities.

• The anticipated increase in attendance is expected to create five seasonal jobs.
