Government of Canada Grants $64,900 in Funding to the Association quebecoise des technologies

MONTRÉAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 17, 2011) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, is pleased to announce that the Association québécoise des technologies (AQT) will receive a non-repayable contribution of $64,900 under the Business and Regional Growth program to analyze the business practices of firms in Quebec's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector and share its findings with the heads of these firms.

"Canada Economic Development considers it essential to lend its support to the AQT's project which, thanks to the data compiled, will help it better understand the dynamics and characteristics of the ICT sector and thus better meet the needs of its members," explained Minister of State Lebel.

The results of this extensive ICT sector study will help AQT identify the key issues and enhance its service offerings in relation to the six themes targeted in the survey: strategic planning; clientele; innovation and research and development; investment and financing; skilled workforce; and, lastly, geographic markets. This contribution from the government will also serve to deliver a series of workshops at which the results of the study will be made available.

Formerly known as Réseau inter loqiQ, the Association québécoise des technologies boasts a membership of more than 450 enterprises across Quebec. Its mission is to support its members by helping them achieve their growth objectives.
