Government of Canada Grants Funding to Mosaicultures internationales de Montreal Exhibition

MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 4, 2013) - The Honourable Claude Carignan, Deputy Leader of the Government in the Senate, on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announced that the organization Mosaïcultures internationales de Montréal (MIM) has been granted funding to organize a new exhibition in Montréal during summer 2013.

"By participating in the funding of this well-known exhibition, the Government of Canada is contributing to the growth of the Montréal economy," said Senator Carignan.

Founded in 1998, MIM is a non-profit corporation that has expertise in designing and creating floral exhibitions and maintaining mosaiculture gardens and art works. Montréal has hosted Mosaïcultures on three occasions since the arrival of the new millennium. Some 20 cities from 11 countries have already indicated their intention to participate in the competition to be held this summer, and the number is expected to grow in the coming months.

The funding will be directed to international relations, marketing and public relations efforts aimed at drawing international visitors. The contribution agreement also includes a portion of the fees and salaries of consultants for the production of the mosaiculture creations.
