Government of Canada Hails Inauguration of New Facilities of Centre communautaire récréatif Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Drummondville

DRUMMONDVILLE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 11, 2014) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, for Official Languages and for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that financial assistance has been granted to the Centre communautaire récréatif Saint-Jean-Baptiste (CCRSJB) de Drummondville in support of its modernization.

Assistance was granted for this project in the form of a $420,160 non-repayable financial contribution through CED's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund.

Quick facts

  • This funding enabled the CCRSJB to enhance the quality of its buildings' facilities so as to better meet the needs of the community centre's users and the public at large.

  • The work included reconfiguring a reception station, offices and various rooms and upgrading bathrooms, showers as well as the floor, ceiling and wall finishings and lighting system in the gymnasium.

  • The project was carried out using local labour, thereby contributing to the growth of the Drummondville economy.
