Government of Canada Hails Inauguration of New Facilities at Club nautique Les Plaisanciers du Havre

ÎLES-DE-LA-MADELEINE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 20, 2014) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, welcomes the official opening of the new facilities at Club nautique Les Plaisanciers du Havre in Îles-de-la-Madeleine.

Assistance was granted for this project in the form of a $186,770 non-repayable financial contribution through Canada Economic Development's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund.

Quick facts

  • The funding mainly served to renovate the yacht club's fixed docks, build additional docks, expand the clubhouse for use as a community hall, add storage areas and upgrade the plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Thanks to this modernization work, Club nautique Les Plaisanciers du Havre is now better suited to the needs of yachters and the public at large.
  • This project was carried out using local labour, thereby contributing to the growth of the Îles-de-la-Madeleine economy.

Quote

"By supporting this project of Club nautique Les Plaisanciers du Havre, our government is helping improve the quality of life in our communities. I want to congratulate everyone who contributed, directly or indirectly, to making this project a reality."
