Government of Canada Hails Inauguration of New Facilities at Complexe de Soccer Honco de Lévis

LÉVIS, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 12, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister for Official Languages and for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, took part in today's official ceremony inaugurating the new facilities of the Complexe de soccer Honco de Lévis.

It will be recalled that $500,000 in non-repayable funding was granted in 2013 for the expansion of the sports complex through Canada Economic Development's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund.

Quick facts

  • Built in 2007, the newly-expanded sports complex includes 520 square-metres of additional space over two floors.
  • The facility is now able to accommodate a greater number of large-scale sports competitions.
  • Thanks to this project, the citizens of Lévis have access to a safer and more modern community infrastructure better suited to their needs.

Quote

"Fostering the growth of communities is a priority for the Government of Canada. This is why we provided financial support for the expansion of the Complexe de soccer Honco de Lévis, a project that is the fruit of the sustained effort and commitment of all of the partners involved."

Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister for Official Languages and for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec
