Government of Canada Hails Inauguration of Renovated Facilities at Auberge BeauseJour

AMQUI, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 20, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, welcomes the official opening of the newly-renovated Auberge Beauséjour, a New England-style inn in Amqui built in 1892.

Assistance was granted for the modernization project in the form of a $45,182 repayable financial contribution through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

  • The Auberge Beauséjour project involved renovating the guestrooms, purchasing a new sign and installing a wireless network and Internet station.
  • This initiative will help increase the appeal of the inn, which serves tourists and business travellers alike, and lead to higher occupancy rates, particularly outside the peak summer period.
  • By improving the Matapédia Valley's tourism lodging supply and thus its power of attraction, this project will benefit the entire Bas-Saint-Laurent tourism industry.
