Government of Canada Reaffirms Support of POLE Quebec Chaudiere-Appalaches With $1,800,000 in Funding

QUÉBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 12, 2010) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, today announced $1,800,000 in funding to PÔLE Québec Chaudière-Appalaches. This financial assistance will enable the organization to provide enterprises in the greater Québec region with a wide range of customized services in such areas as competitiveness, innovation and new market development between now and March 2012. 

Dedicated to improving the global competitiveness of businesses in the Québec Chaudière-Appalaches economic zone, the organization delivers information and guidance services to enterprises to help them become more competitive and improve their innovative capabilities.

"The PÔLE Québec Chaudière-Appalaches activities that Canada Economic Development is supporting are aimed at making the region's SMEs more productive and more competitive on domestic as well as international markets. This funding will also allow the organization to help further the growth of those sectors flagged as key priorities for the region's economy. The Government of Canada is pleased to back efforts that, like these ones, seek to strengthen our industries and create new opportunities for sustained growth," explained Minister of State Lebel.

Awarded through Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program, this funding will enable the organization to continue playing a leadership role among small and medium-sized enterprises in the greater Québec area.
