Government of Canada Support for Modernization of Recreational Infrastructure in Sainte-Catherine-de-Hatley


SAINTE-CATHERINE-DE-HATLEY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Feb. 24, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced that the municipality of Sainte-Catherine-de-Hatley, in Estrie, has been granted financial assistance to upgrade the community and recreational facilities close to its community hall.

The funding has been awarded in the form of a $181,730 non-repayable financial contribution through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

Quick facts

  • This investment has helped upgrade facilities in the public park and develop a multi-purpose sports surface, which will also be used to hold cultural and community events during the summer.

  • The project aims to provide attractive community services that encourage residents of all ages to be socially and physically active.
