SAINT-LÉON-LE-GRAND, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 24, 2016) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Mr. Rémi Massé, MP for Avignon-La Mitis-Matane-Matapédia, announced, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, the awarding of $45,120 in financial assistance to the Saint-Léon Development Committee for upgrading the facilities of the playing field in the municipality's intergenerational park.

Key players in the communities have long been asking for concrete, lasting improvements to the community and recreational infrastructures. The Government of Canada is proud to invest in projects that, like this one by the Saint-Léon Development Committee, contribute to the vitality and buoyancy of all of the country's regions.

Established in 1995, the Saint-Léon Development Committee is a non-profit organization that implements development and animation projects that aim to revitalize the municipality. The non-repayable contribution awarded under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) will enable it to upgrade the existing park and set up certain spaces for playing soccer, tennis and volleyball.

CED is one of the six regional development agencies under the responsibility of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.
