The Government of Canada supports the holding of the next World Congress of the Junior Chamber International

Hundreds of young leaders from around the world will converge on Quebec in fall 2016


QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 29, 2016) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Joël Lightbound, MP for Louis-Hébert, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the CED, announces that $404,500 in financial assistance is awarded to the organization JCI World Congress 2016. This amount will be used to support the holding and the national and international promoting of the Junior Chamber International World Congress (JCI 2016), which will held in Quebec City from October 30 to November 4, 2016.

Tourism, one of the most rapidly growing sectors on the planet, represents an excellent economic growth opportunity for Canada. The Government of Canada is proud to support events like JCI 2016 that bring about major economic and media impacts.

The annual congress of the Junior Chamber of Commerce International is the largest world gathering of young leaders and entrepreneurs. There will be nearly 4,000 of them from roughly 125 countries. CED's support is provided as a non-repayable contribution under the Quebec Economic Development Program.
