Government of Canada Supports International de montgolfieres de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu

SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 2, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the International de montgolfières de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu hot air balloon festival has been granted funding for the commercialization of the event on markets outside Quebec.

This assistance has been awarded in the form of a $501,000 non-repayable financial contribution through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

• The project involves commercializing the 2014 and 2015 editions of this major tourism event on northeastern United States and eastern Ontario markets, including in Toronto.
  
  
• The activities planned include developing promotional tools, taking out advertising space in various media, conducting promotional trips and hosting foreign media.
  
  
• This year's 31st edition of the International de montgolfières de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu takes place from August 9 to 17, 2014.
