Government of Canada Supports Solutions Novika College Centre for Technology Transfer

LA POCATIÈRE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 23, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, announces that the organization Solutions Novika has been granted financial assistance for the acquisition of research equipment that will enable Quebec metallurgy companies to carry out industrial operations.

"By lending financial support to Solutions Novika, the Government of Canada is reaffirming its commitment to making innovation the key to our country's economic future," said Minister Lebel.

Based in La Pocatière, Solutions Novika is a technology transfer centre that provides services to Quebec metal processors requiring access to, among other things, laser welding and surface treatment applications. This new equipment will allow the organization to expand its service offering and clientele.

"Our government remains focused on four priorities, as outlined by the Prime Minister, that Canadians care most about: their families, the safety of our streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and of course, their personal financial security," concluded Minister Lebel.

Information:

This assistance, granted in the form of a $392,148 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
