Government-Focused Conference Explores Open Source Search Technologies

Applications of Apache Lucene and Apache Solr Is One of Three Government Technology Conferences Sponsored by Basis Technology

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - May 31, 2011) - A government-focused conference on open source search technologies will highlight applications of Apache Lucene and Apache Solr search technologies by experts in the field, Basis Technology announced today. At the Open Source Search Conference, talks will cover case studies of search-based applications implemented in government projects; searching at multiple classification levels; and handling large amounts of data. Hands-on, technical Solr tutorials will be held June 13-14, followed by the main conference on June 15.

"This conference provides a unique venue for government technologists to explore the latest developments in open source search," said Carl Hoffman, CEO of Basis Technology. "We are pleased to offer this new resource for attendees to learn how their peers in other agencies are leveraging this new generation of tools to lower costs; improve search quality and relevance; and create a more flexible, scalable search infrastructure."

The Open Source Search Conference is one of three, day-long conferences for government technology users and developers, scheduled for June 13-16 at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner in McLean, VA.
