Government of Canada Announces $746,949 Contract for
New Brunswick Wharf Renovation

CAP PELE, NEW BRUNSWICK--(CCNMatthews - March 29, 2005) - A $746,949
competitive contract has been awarded to Landco Construction Ltd., of
Cap Pele, N.B., to renovate Chockpish Wharf, N. B. Awarded on behalf of
the Small Craft Harbours (SCH) program of Fisheries and Oceans Canada,
this contract will be completed in July 2005.

The announcement was made today by Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, MP for
Beauséjour, on behalf of the Honourable Scott Brison, Minister of Public
Works and Government Services.

"Many of the Chockpish wharf structures have deteriorated beyond
repair," said Mr. LeBlanc. "This contract will ensure their replacement.
The government of Canada is committed to the safety of fishing
operations as a means of ensuring the prosperity of fishing communities
across New Brunswick."

Landco Construction Ltd., of Cap Pele, will replace the damaged timber
piles as well as a worn-out section of the wooden deck at Chockpish
Wharf, N.B. The company will construct a new reinforced concrete deck,
a concrete retaining wall, and beams. Landco will also install new
bracing and timber piles at the harbour.

The SCH program works through local harbour authorities in five regions
across the country to provide commercial fishers and recreational
boaters with safe and accessible facilities. Through these authorities,
the SCH program ensures that nearly 1,300 harbours and 6,000 structures
critical to the economic and social life of small maritime communities
remain open and in good repair.
