Government of Canada Contributes to the Productivity Enhancement of PranaSens Inc.

Sainte-Genevieve-de-Batiscan firm will be able to raise processing capacity and develop new markets


SAINTE-GENEVIÈVE-DE-BATISCAN, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 19, 2015) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that PranaSens Inc. has been granted financial assistance to increase its productivity.

This support has been awarded in the form of a $43,975 repayable contribution through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

  • Established in 2010, PranaSens specializes in the cultivation of aromatic plants and extraction of essential oils.
  • The Mauricie enterprise operates a 3.5-hectare farm where it grows and processes some 15 different varieties of plants for the production of a full line of essential oils, organic floral waters and aromatherapy products.
  • The funding will enable PranaSens Inc. to acquire specialized equipment, renovate its facilities and increase its processing capacity.
  • This project is part of the company's expansion strategy aimed at developing new North American and European markets and bolstering sales.
