Government of Canada Funding to Enhance Trades Delivery in Nelson


NELSON, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - April 14, 2016) - Western Economic Diversification Canada

The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for Western Economic Diversification Canada today announced funding of $600,000 to enable Selkirk College to upgrade Silver King campus' trades and technology facilities in Nelson, British Columbia.

Federal funding will support the renewal of the existing trades building by enabling the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment and teaching technologies. The equipment acquired will become a key component of the College's new trades and technology facilities by providing essential and modern training to students.

This initiative will also allow Selkirk College to continue playing a pivotal role in ensuring that a skilled and educated workforce are ready to take advantages of job opportunities in the trades.
