Government of Canada Funds Festival de la chanson de Tadoussac

TADOUSSAC, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 12, 2012) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, hails today's opening of the 29th Festival de la chanson de Tadoussac and wishes every success to all the organizers and volunteers involved in this important cultural event.

"By investing in the Festival de la chanson de Tadoussac, the Government of Canada is contributing to extending the festival's reach on francophone markets, and is demonstrating its firm commitment to the economy and employment in the region," said Minister Lebel.

The Government of Canada has awarded the Festival de la chanson $96,713 in non-repayable funding to help it continue its commercialization activities with francophone clients from outside Quebec and acquire stage equipment.

This financial assistance has been granted under Canada Economic Development's Community Diversification program, an initiative whose objectives include funding the development of the tourism offering in the regions of Quebec.
