Government of Canada Funds Festival International de Danse Encore

TROIS-RIVIÈRES, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 17, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the Festival International de Danse Encore (DansEncore) has been granted financial assistance to implement a commercialization strategy outside Quebec.

"By lending our support to the Festival International de Danse Encore, which draws a large number of international tourists, the Government of Canada is helping to stimulate the Trois-Rivières economy," said Minister Lebel.

DansEncore is one of Trois-Rivières' main cultural events and one of its major tourist attractions. Every year, in June, the Festival brings together more than 100 artists and 25,000 visitors.

With this financial support from Canada Economic Development, the Festival International de Danse Encore was able to carry out promotional activities, primarily targeting Italy and Spain, such as prospecting missions, revamping its Web site, producing promotional material and welcoming international delegates.

Information:

This assistance, granted in the form of a $67,650 non-repayable contribution, was awarded through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
