GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 29, 2012) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, welcomes the launch of Export Outaouais, an organization set up through funding to the Gatineau Chamber of Commerce, which will oversee the new export assistance service.
"By lending financial support for the creation of Export Outaouais, our government is demonstrating its firm commitment to fostering business development into international markets and participating in business growth and creating jobs," said Minister Lebel.
Export Outaouais will provide businesses in the region with services to help them tap into new international markets through such activities as training, and trade and prospecting missions abroad. Export Outaouais will also develop marketing tools and offer its clients advisory services, on developing a commercialization plan, for example.
Awarded over a three-year period, this $330,000 in non-repayable funding has been granted under Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program. Completion of this project will necessitate a total investment of $970,000.
