Government of Canada Grants Funding to Two Rouyn-Noranda SMEs

ROUYN-NORANDA, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 8, 2015) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced that two enterprises from the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region have been granted financial assistance for the acquisition of manufacturing equipment.

This support has been awarded in the form of two repayable financial contributions totalling $244,755 through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

• The two companies receiving this funding from the Government of Canada are Atelier Tangente Inc. and the microbrewery Le Trèfle Noir.
• Atelier Tangente will use the $119,755 it has been granted for the acquisition of equipment that will allow it to, among other things, reduce its manufacturing lead time, increase its production capacity and lower its subcontracting costs.
• Le Trèfle Noir will receive $125,000 in assistance for the purchase of brewing equipment, including mash tuns, which should enable the microbrewery to raise its production capacity.
