Government of Canada Hails Inauguration of Bromont Artificial Turf Soccer Field

BROMONT, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 8, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, welcomes the official opening of the newly-renovated artificial turf soccer pitch at the Germain Désourdy recreational and educational campus in Bromont.

It will be recalled that $500,000 in non-repayable financial assistance was granted for this modernization project through Canada Economic Development's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund.

Quick facts

  • The funding enabled Club de soccer de Bromont Inc. to lay an artificial playing surface, add new sports equipment and install a lighting system.
  • The artificial playing surface will ensure a safe, better quality pitch for users of the soccer field.
  • The work was carried out by local labour, thus contributing to the growth of the Bromont economy.

Quote

"By supporting the Club de soccer de Bromont Inc.'s project, our government is helping improve the quality of life in our communities. I congratulate everyone who took part, directly or indirectly, in making this project a reality."

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec
