Government of Canada Hails Inauguration of New Technobois Plant

VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 11, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, welcomes the inauguration of the new Technobois S.O.S Emploi (Abitibi-Est) manufacturing plant. This new facility will allow the social and professional insertion enterprise to increase its production activities, which will in turn have a positive impact on the Abitibi-Témiscamingue job market.

It will be recalled that $1,765,725 in non-repayable funding was granted for the construction project in 2013 through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

  • The financial assistance enabled Technobois to build a new plant in the Val-d'Or industrial park, acquire manufacturing equipment and pursue the growth and diversification of its activities.
  • This project will help increase the enterprise's productivity and production capacity and contribute to the creation of two new jobs.

Quote

"By supporting this Technobois project, our government is fulfilling its commitment to help further economic growth. I congratulate everyone who had a hand in making this project a reality."

Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec
