Government of Canada Hails Inauguration of Reception Pavilion at Pohenegamook Beach


POHÉNÉGAMOOK, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 19, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, welcomes the official opening of the reception pavilion at Pohénégamook municipal beach.

Assistance was granted to Centre touristique Tête-du-lac Pohénégamook Inc. in the form of a $500,000 non-repayable contribution through Canada Economic Development's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund for the reconstruction of this municipal facility.

Quick facts

  • The project involved rebuilding a larger pavilion at the municipal beach in order to make it a safe, functional and appealing gathering place for the residents of Pohénégamook as well as for the many visitors to the beach.
  • This work will now allow the building to be used for a multitude of activities year-round.
