Government of Canada Hails Inauguration of Roberval Marina Facilities

ROBERVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 20, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, welcomes the grand opening of Marina de Roberval.

It will be recalled that $256,750 in funding was granted to the Club nautique de Roberval in the form of a non-repayable contribution through Canada Economic Development's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund to carry out infrastructure improvements.

Quick facts

  • The investment served to add 65 new berths to the marina, bringing the total to 195, in order to enhance public access to its facilities.

  • It was also used to build a gangway to the dock, acquire a wave attenuator, improve the electrical installations and acquire equipment that meets current safety and efficiency standards for stepping and unstepping the masts of sailboats measuring more than 45 feet.

Quote

"By supporting this modernization project of the Marina de Roberval, our government is fulfilling its commitment to improve the quality of life in our communities. I congratulate everyone who contributed, directly or indirectly, to making this project a reality."
