Government of Canada Hails Inauguration of Sainte-Francoise Community Centre

SAINTE-FRANÇOISE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - April 24, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today welcomed the inauguration of the new community centre in the Municipality of Sainte-Françoise.

The project benefited from $335,457 in funding, announced in September 2013, granted in the form of a non-repayable financial contribution through Canada Economic Development's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund.

Quick facts

  • The Government of Canada allocated financial assistance for the reconstruction of a new facility to replace the municipality's former community centre, which was completely destroyed by fire in April 2012. Citizens of Sainte-Françoise can now enjoy access to an improved community infrastructure adapted to their needs.

  • The funding served for construction work, interior fittings and service installations.

Quote

"By supporting this project of the Municipality of Sainte-Françoise, our government is maintaining its promise to help improve the quality of life in our communities. I want to congratulate everyone who, whether directly or indirectly, helped make this project a reality."
