Government of Canada Lends Financial Support to Agro-Enviro-Lab

LA POCATIÈRE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 23, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the firm Agro-Enviro-Lab has been granted financial assistance for the purchase of leading-edge laboratory equipment.

"To the Government of Canada, economic prosperity is achieved through investments like the one Agro-Enviro-Lab is making to improve its production capacity, productivity and competitiveness," said Minister Lebel.

In operation since 1995, Agro-Enviro-Lab specializes in the analysis of agricultural soil, plant tissue and organic fertilizer samples, among other things. Its clientele consists primarily of agricultural producers, greenhouse operators and agri-environmental consultants. The acquisition of two specialized dispensing devices, a drying unit and office equipment has become essential in order for the company to meet customer demand, which has grown steadily since 2012. This Agro-Enviro-Lab project is expected to contribute not only to local job maintenance, but also to the economic diversification of the Kamouraska Regional County Municipality.

Information:

This assistance, granted in the form of a $180,000 repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
