Government of Canada Lends Financial Support to Flextherm Inc.


LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 7, 2012) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the firm Flextherm Inc. has been granted financial assistance to carry out a commercialization project on the United States market.

"The Government of Canada is committed to encouraging innovative enterprises that, like Flextherm, are investing in order to remain competitive and are working to bring new products to specialty markets," says Minister Lebel.

For more than 20 years, Flextherm has been specializing in the design and manufacture of electric floor heating systems for the retail sales market and for professionals operating in the construction and renovation industries. With this project, the company is seeking to expand its presence on the American market and increase the export of its technologies and know-how. Flextherm's commercialization activities in the United States will include the hiring of new sales representatives, participation in trade fairs, meetings with prospective customers and the development of various promotional tools.

This $375,000 in repayable financial assistance has been granted through Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program.
