Government of Canada Lends Financial Support to Les Produits Plastitel Inc.

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 5, 2011) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Les Produits Plastitel Inc. has been granted $200,000 in repayable funding for the acquisition of a twin-sheet thermoformer that will help the enterprise increase its production capabilities.

"This support is yet another example of the Government of Canada's commitment to help small and medium-sized enterprises that, like Les Produits Plastitel, are making an effort to strengthen their competitive standing," said Minister Lebel.

Founded in 1987, Les Produits Plastitel Inc. specializes in the thermoforming of plastic sheets. The company has since become a North American leader in twin-sheet thermoforming, a technique for which it holds a patent.

Plastitel manufactures thermoformed plastics products for the industrial, transportation and medical sectors, among others. The company has registered a significant rise in sales since 2009 and further growth is projected as a result of this investment. The new thermoforming machine will allow the firm to reduce its running time, improve its turnaround time on deliveries and thereby increase its productivity.

This financial contribution has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program.
