Government of Canada Lends Financial Support to Mokko Studio


MONTRÉAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 27, 2012) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Mokko Studio has been granted financial assistance to implement a commercialization strategy.

"The Government of Canada is committed to supporting enterprises that, like Mokko Studio, are making the necessary effort to increase their presence on foreign markets and are thereby positioning themselves in high value-added industries," says Minister Lebel.

Mokko Studio specializes in the creation of visual effects and animation for film, television and commercials. The company intends to take part in industry trade shows, produce promotional materials and hire staff specialized in customer prospecting in order to break into the American, European and Asian markets.

The Montréal enterprise has collaborated on numerous film projects in recent years, among them Across the Universe and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, as well as on such high-calibre televisions series as the Discovery Channel's Clash of the Dinosaurs.

This $200,000 in repayable financial assistance has been granted through Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program.
