Government of Canada Lends Financial Support to Technologies Khloros

LÉVIS, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 23, 2012) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Steven Blaney, Member of Parliament for Lévis-Bellechasse and Minister of Veterans Affairs, today announced that the startup firm Technologies Khlôros has been granted financial assistance to initiate the commercialization of natural health products designed to improve athletic performance and aid in weight management.

"The Government of Canada is giving a real boost to innovation today by supporting this Technologies Khlôros project," said Minister Blaney.

Technologies Khlôros has developed a line of products resembling chewing gum and jelly candy that, when chewed, release active ingredients for optimal absorption through the mucous membranes of the mouth. These ingredients are molecules, primarily from vegetable extracts, whose properties have been shown to promote weight loss or enhance muscle performance. The company hopes to market these new products to athletes, bodybuilders and health-conscious consumers.
