Government of Canada Pleased to Support Industries Canatal Inc.

THETFORD MINES, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 9, 2014) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Christian Paradis, Member of Parliament for Mégantic-L'Érable and Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, today announced that Canatal Industries Inc. has been granted financial assistance to improve its productivity and conduct commercialization activities in the United States.

This assistance has been awarded in the form of a $453,500 repayable financial contribution through the Canadian Initiative for the Economic Diversification of Communities Reliant on Chrysotile.

Quick facts

  • Canatal Industries will use the funding to acquire an integrated management system and promote its expertise to prime contractors in the U.S.
  • This project will enable the firm-the main private employer in the region-to increase sales as well as create 10 new jobs by 2016.
  • The Canadian Initiative for the Economic Diversification of Communities Reliant on Chrysotile supports projects related to the economic diversification of the Des Appalaches and Des Sources RCMs that have the potential to create jobs in the short and long term.
